CANDID TALKS ABOUT RACISM BY PROFESSIONALS

This  Fall 2020, a new  SJSU Journalism School interview series will invite professionals in journalism, advertising, public relations and other fields to  candidly discuss job experiences with racism, including workplace challenges they had to overcome.

Mercury News Photo Journalist Randy Vazquez, an SJSU Journalism graduate,  gives us an up close look and he describes the tension during a 2020 San Jose Police / BLM protester clash near the San Jose State University campus.

A retired Bay Area physician, who practiced medicine for more than forty years, remembers blatant racism he experienced in hospitals in the South during the early years of his training and treating members of the Black community.
